Health Care Career Opportunities Growing As Baby Boomer Generation Ages
By Health Care Info | May 26, 2010
It was long feared that they would be the aging of the baby boom generation, a crisis in healthcare in the United States, and our nation’s politicians have planned accordingly. Cuts to Medicare and Medicaid Services have been performed several times in the last ten years, and Congress has recently launched a package that would reduce benefits 40% over the next nine years, suggested that while the premiums increase by 20%. However, every cloud seems to actually be a silver lining on the horizon seen as a positive, can result from the increased burden on the healthcare system in the number of health industry jobs projected over the next ten years are available. In the next ten years, the single will be the fastest-growing employment sector in the U.S. in gerontology and senior health. Yet another problem arises when the supply of trained healthcare workers over the number of adults whose aging is expected that the population increase of 55 to 65 years old category over the next decade. Labor shortages for the healthcare industry are inevitable, which means career opportunities are not only abundant, but more profitable products as a result. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, health care-related jobs will grow faster than the national average for other industries to 2014 and probably beyond that. The health care sector, in particular, the second fastest growing occupation for job growth in the next decade. The number of ongoing care professionals are approaching retirement age is much faster than the number of nursing program graduates is growing and recruiting efforts of healthcare organizations are already underway. Nursing salaries have increased in recent years and is expected to increase as competition for workers, more widespread. Sign up bonuses that were once unheard of, are now commonplace, and entering the area more opportunities than ever before in relation to the type of plant they want to be in. Home Health Care Aid positions work expected to increase as more and more Americans choose to take in return assisted living options and instead to remain independent. Jobs at the administrative end of the healthcare industry are also taken on the rise, such as insurance claims for the flood of health clamp the industry expects. As in all employment sectors that have a limited supply of qualified personnel and an increasing demand for them, the wages and salaries will continue to rise until positions are filled. Entering university or college programs can be found in increased salary potential and job security in healthcare. While the price increase on health care, so are the potential employment opportunities in an industry struggling to meet the requirements of the current aging population needs.
